Lumière-III - final performance - at Mapping Festival Genvea, May 24. I started working with lasers in 2012 with the 'Fragile Territories' installation, and in 2013 the first version of Lumière had its premiere. At that time no commercial laser control software could accomplish the things I am interested in. I did develop my own unique system for real time laser graphics, which I refined in the years to come, and which inspired amongst others the creators of Touch Designer to implement their own laser control after seeing my Lumière II show in Toronto in 2015. I am currently working on a completely new laser based audiovisual performance, for which I once again write a new control system. As preparation for this very last performance of Lumière-III I tested the setup recently, and with great joy I realised it still is a great artistic and technical achievement, even by the standards of 2025. I am looking forward to show the work one last time at Mapping Festival, and I also am looking forward to some day present my next laser performance, once it is ready.
